Redback spider photos and notes

After meeting a redback spider while I was tidying old flower pots I realised that I knew precious little about one of Australia's most dreaded and deadly small creatures.
Following are some of the facts I discovered, along with photos of the redback spider herself. (Definitely "her"; only the female sports the bright colours, only the female is large enough to be quickly noticeable and only the female can inflict a dangerous bite.)
