Eastern spinebill (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris) in japonica

Previous | Next | Thumbnails

Male eastern spinebill

It seems that there's just one pair of eastern spinebills in our whole street, because if one person has seen them on a certain day, no-one else has.

In my garden they like to feed from japonica, fuchsias and pineapple sage. I've not seen them bothering with honeysuckle, and this surprises me. In a neighbour's garden, the item of interest is a red bottlebrush. Perhaps they have a list of favourite food locations! big smile
