Crimson rosella, a shy bird
We hear rosellas far more often than we see them. There's heaps of food high up amongst foliage: eucalypt flowers, acorns and insects. They do come down for nectarines, but always fly off quickly if a human is seen. On this occasion, though, the taste of the catkins must've been too good to pass up and the bird stayed where it was for fully five minutes!
