Corella parent feeding young one

Previous | Next | Thumbnails

High in the sky, it's dinner time.

Corellas are a pest, there's no doubt about it. They follow wheat farmers, pecking up the grain a minute after it's been sown, and they cover sports grounds and open parks in their hundreds. Just the same, this sunset scene gave me a smile.

A young corella, not all that much smaller than the rest of the flock, has been fussing about being hungry and the parent is obliging by regurgitating food into its open beak.
