These tiny European wasps were introduced into Australia at some time between 1940 and 1951, specifically to deal with the introduced European small white cabbage butterfly whose larvae destroy the introduced brassica/crucifera crops.

Apparently the wasp is attracted by the smell of members of the cabbage family, alights on them and systematically searches for its host.
