Colour Guide If the page is very dark, please move your mouse. |
This only works in IE. It's very old, too; from my first year of trying to make web pages. You can use this tool to view an almost infinite number of colours and record the numbers for later use. Just move your mouse around over the rainbow picture. Do bear in mind, though, that browsers cannot always be trusted to show all of your chosen colours correctly. Use this guide for use in painting and drawing programs and use the "Colour Cube" chart to be sure of choosing "browser safe" colours for your web pages. If putting your mouse into the centre of the rainbow picture doesn't produce a black screen, the wheel doesn't work properly in your browser. In that case, the number in the slot is the colour of the page, not the colour that your mouse is over. It's useful to know that, except in older browsers, all of the colours below will be recognised if they are typed into a web page as words. The spelling must be as shown, though. aqua black blue fuchsia gray green lime maroon navy olive purple red silver teal white yellow |
